I’ve worked in hairdressing for more than 20 years, and in that time I’ve learnt that skill, consistency and trust matter far more than hype. Good hair isn’t about chasing every trend — it’s about understanding the person in the chair and delivering work that stands up weeks later, not just in a photo on the day.

I trained at the Toni & Guy Academy in Sydney, where I developed the technical foundation that still underpins everything I do. I went on to become a senior stylist and spent 12 years working in established salons before taking over ecHo Hair in December 2018.

As Creative Director, I now divide my time between caring for clients and mentoring my team. Passing on what I’ve learnt over two decades in the industry is important to me. A strong salon isn’t built on one person — it’s built on shared standards and steady leadership.

Junko began her career in Japan and has since built a decade of experience in Sydney. Now on the Gold Coast, she brings over 35 years of artistry to the salon. She loves precision cutting, bold short styles, confident perming and beautifully balanced colour. Penelope brings over 30 years of hairdressing experience to the ecHo Hair team, including six years working in London, where she refined her advanced skills in cutting, colouring and styling.

She is particularly known for her precision cutting, beautiful blow-dries and expertise with naturally curly hair. Penelope’s approach blends strong technical training with an intuitive, free-flow cutting style, creating shapes that work naturally with the client’s hair.

Penelope also offers personalised colour services, creating natural-looking results that suit each client’s haircut and complexion.

Having owned and run her own successful salon for many years, Penelope understands that great hair begins with a great consultation.

She takes time to actively listen and understand how clients wear and manage their hair day to day, helping create styles that feel natural, flattering and easy to maintain.

Known for her calm, friendly nature and attention to detail, Penelope creates a relaxed experience in the chair while delivering beautifully tailored results.

She is also trained in the ZenzTherapy alternative hair colour system, which aligns with ecHo Hair’s focus on organic and low-tox colour services.
