Sustainability is central to how I run the business. ecHo Hair is part of the Sustainable Salons program, an initiative that helps us reduce waste and lower our environmental impact. I grew up being taught to waste nothing and to leave places better than I found them. That principle shapes the way we operate every day.
As Creative Director, I now divide my time between caring for clients and mentoring my team. Passing on what I’ve learnt over two decades in the industry is important to me. A strong salon isn’t built on one person — it’s built on shared standards and steady leadership.

Kelly Porter
I’ve worked in hairdressing for more than 20 years, and in that time I’ve learnt that skill, consistency and trust matter far more than hype. Good hair isn’t about chasing every trend — it’s about understanding the person in the chair and delivering work that stands up weeks later, not just in a photo on the day.
I trained at the Toni & Guy Academy in Sydney, where I developed the technical foundation that still underpins everything I do. I went on to become a senior stylist and spent 12 years working in established salons before taking over ecHo Hair in December 2018.
Today, ecHo Hair is recognised as one of the Gold Coast’s leading organic colouring and curly hair salons. We’ve received more than 500 five-star reviews on Fresha — something I’m proud of because it reflects long-term client relationships and consistent standards. Many of our clients travel from across the Gold Coast because they value thoughtful consultation and colour work that prioritises hair health.
